Meredith B. Travers

20+ Years Practicing in Hampton Roads

100+ Trials

Virginia State Bar

For the past two decades, Meredith has practiced law exclusively in Hampton Roads, Virginia. She began her career as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Norfolk. While in Norfolk, Meredith handled cases involving violent crimes, drugs, domestic violence, and juvenile cases including crimes committed against juveniles and crimes committed by juveniles. She then prosecuted in the City of Suffolk where she concentrated on felony domestic violence cases.

In 2018, Meredith transitioned to private practice, Travers Law, PLLC.  Since that time, she has primarily focused on defending individuals accused of crimes. Meredith has successfully defended clients who were charged with crimes ranging from traffic violations and DUIs to violent sexual assaults and homicides. The knowledge Meredith gained from her years as a prosecutor is invaluable to her clients. She uses this expertise on a daily basis to get the best results possible for her clients. To that end, Meredith has successfully tried hundreds of cases to verdict, defending her clients from the most serious of criminal charges.

Meredith is active in the community, including local and state bar associations. From 2018 until 2021, she served as the elected representative from the City of Portsmouth on the Virginia State Bar Executive Committee. On most days, Meredith can be found in a Hampton Roads courtroom advocating on behalf of her clients. When not in court, she can be found spending time with her family or training for her next marathon.
