There is this funny story of me when I was a kid  that I drew a picture of myself with a briefcase and a gavel. Thinking that’s what it meant  to be an attorney. But then as I got older, I got more so involved in my school’s student  government. I started going to city hall meetings. So I was more so involved like I think  the idea of more like the political science side and then it progressed and progressed until I  went to law school. I ended up going to Regent University School of Law because one they are a  Christian university and I really wanted that to be a part of my educational background because  I also did undergrad at a Christian university.

I got my start doing family law and I also got  my start doing a lot of criminal defense work as a parallegal. So, it was interesting when  this opportunity came because I was looking for a change. I wasn’t sure what that was going to  look like. And then I came here and I fell right into it. And my biggest thing is is that I  always reassure them that I might not physically know what you’re going through, but I can at least  understand. I can read your medicals. I can see   the hurt that this accident has caused you. I’m  present with them in the moment of them telling me their story and that, you know, at the end of  the day, we always hope that we can, you know, put our client back to one is what we like to  say. I like to reassure them that I’m going   to do everything in my power to make you whole  after this, you know, because I’m understanding that this has now affected your life — even if it’s  for a blip or if it’s for 5 years or if it’s now a permanent injury. Regardless of the circumstances,  it’s affected you. And I want them to know that   they have someone who’s advocating for them on the  background. The nice thing with having an attorney is that it gives you an additional voice. You  know, it’s not just you. You now have someone else   who’s in your corner who’s going to continue to  fight for you, whatever capacity that looks like.
